Change Management | Organisational Change | Performance Management
Performance Management The Context The organisation, a large multi-national engineering company, had a diverse portfolio of products and a client base across the country. The company was faced with the task of modernising its structures to support a commercial and competitive organisation. A target driven performance management system was identified as a key element of this process, essential in ensuring the focus of the enterprise on key business indicators. Implementation A series of communication tools that provided a clear outline of the benefits of performance management. This was followed by a series company-wide workshops targeted at combating of resistance points. A key element to the success of the process was the provision of ongoing support to both line managers and employees. Outcomes By focusing on the points of resistance, a momentum of support for the performance management process was built up. The ongoing support ensured that the organisation stayed engaged past the first enthusiasm of implementation. Performance management became embedded in the culture of the organisation assisting in the development of a flexible and responsive commercial enterprise. © HR Dynamics, 2012 |
